MEMPHIS, TN - GILS Holdings International today announced the grand opening of its new 450,000 sq. ft. Memphis Distribution Center, the company's 13th and largest facility worldwide.
The new facility, located adjacent to the Memphis International Airport cargo complex, features a fully automated conveyor and sortation system capable of processing 25,000 cartons per hour, 68 dock doors, 40-foot clear height and an on-site U.S. Customs bonded area.
The Memphis Distribution Center will serve as GILS's Central U.S. hub, supporting the company's retail, e-commerce and healthcare customers with next-day ground coverage to 70% of the U.S. population.

The facility has created 320 new jobs in the Greater Memphis area, bringing GILS's global workforce to 3,500. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by local officials, customers and employees.
The center is LEED Silver certified and features LED lighting, a 1.2 MW rooftop solar array and electric yard tractors as part of GILS's sustainability commitment.
